Born in Portsmouth, England on August 10, 1962, versatile British singer/songwriter Julia Fordham began her career as a backing vocalist for 1980s pop stars like Kim Wilde and Mari Wilson. She released her first single, “Friends”, in 1983 but spent most of the ‘80s doing session work. In the late ‘80s, she signed with Circa Records and released her self-titled debut album in 1988.
