The Juan de la Cruz Band was a Filipino rock group formed in 1970. The group
pioneered Pinoy rock. The original lineup included Mike Hanopol, Edmond Fortuno,
Bó Razon, Bing Labrador, and Alex Cruz. Fortuno is credited with having
introduced the band's name. In 1970, the band headlined the first open field
rock festival in the Philippines. Their debut album, Up in Arms (1972), did not
