Juan Carlos Baglietto (born 14 June 1956 in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina) began
performing in local groups in 1972 before forming the band Irreal in 1975. He
launched his solo career in the early 1980s and achieved a national breakthrough
with his debut album Tiempos difíciles (1982), which includes “Era en abril” and
featured key collaborators from Rosario’s songwriting scene; he followed it the
same year with Actuar para vivir (1982) and continued his early run with
