John S. Hall
John Charles Hall, born September 2, 1960, in Brooklyn, New York, is an American
poet, author, singer, and lawyer. Hall grew up in Manhattan's West Village and
graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 1978. In the early 1980s, he
participated in the poetry scene before co-founding the band King Missile (Dog
Fly Religion) in 1986. The group released the albums Fluting on the Hump in 1987
and They in 1988 on the Shimmy Disc label. After the band dissolved, Hall formed
a new lineup under the name King Missile, which released Mystical Shit in 1990.
