JOHN COHEN
John Cohen was an American folk singer, musician, photographer, and filmmaker
born on August 2, 1932, in Queens, New York. He played a major role in the
American folk music revival as a founding member of the New York-based string
band the New Lost City Ramblers in 1958. His career involved documenting the
traditional music of the rural South, resulting in the album Mountain Music of
