John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band, an American rock band from Rhode Island,
began their career in 1972. Originally known as Beaver Brown, they established
themselves as a New England bar band based in Narragansett, Rhode Island. Their
breakthrough came with the self-released single "Wild Summer Nights" and "Tender
Years" in 1980. The band achieved international success with the Eddie and the
Cruisers soundtrack, which reached number 10 on the Billboard 200 chart and
produced a number 7 hit single "On the Dark Side" on the Billboard Hot 100.
