As a recording artist, American vocalist and songwriter Joey Scarbury, born June
7, 1955 in Ontario, California, was a quintessential one-hit wonder. Nabbing his
first recording contract while still a teenager, he eventually scored a minor
chart hit, “Mixed Up Guy”, in 1971. He did not return to the charts for a
decade. During that time, he worked as a backup singer for established artists.
He began working with television theme song maestro Mike Post, who, at the
