Joe Mooney, born in 1911 in Paterson, New Jersey, U.S., was an American
accordionist, pianist, arranger, organist, and singer who lost his sight at age
ten. He began his music career in the late 1920s as a singer with his brother
Dan, performing in radio shows and recording singles under names such as The
Sunshine Boys and The Melotone Boys between 1929 and 1931. In 1937, Mooney
started working as a pianist and arranger for Frank Dailey. He led his own
