William Jermaine Stewart, born September 7, 1957, in Columbus, Ohio, is an
American singer. He began his entertainment career as a dancer on Soul Train
after moving to Chicago in 1972, where he met fellow dancers Jody Watley and
Jeffrey Daniel, who were later selected for the group Shalamar. Stewart toured
with them before meeting Mikey Craig of Culture Club, which led to his recording
contract with Arista Records. Stewart's debut album The Word Is Out was released
in 1984, however his breakthrough came with the 1986 album Frantic Romantic,
featuring the hit single "We Don't Have...
