Jehan İstiklal Barbur, born on April 12, 1980 in Beirut, Lebanon, is a Turkish
singer of Arab Christian descent. She spent her childhood in İskenderun and
later moved to Ankara for university studies at Bilkent University. After
graduating in 2002, she relocated to Istanbul to pursue a professional music
career. Initially working as a vocalist in various pop and jazz groups, Barbur's
breakthrough came when she signed with Ada Müzik following the support of Bülent
