A guitarist from an early age, Jeff Tweedy (born in Belleville, Illinois, on
August 25, 1967) met Jay Farrar in his teens, with whom he formed several bands
before settling on the name Uncle Tupelo (1987-1994), participating in the folk
and country revival movement. The break-up of the band after Farrar's departure
led to the creation of Wilco, which he has been leading since 1995. Alongside
