Jean Pierre Magnet Vargas-Prada (born September 11, 1949, in Lima, Peru) was a
Peruvian saxophonist, composer, and producer. Magnet began a musical career at
the Country Club Lima Hotel before joining the rock group Traffic Sound in 1967.
The band released the album Virgin (1969), featuring the song “Meshkalina”, and
completed tours of Argentina and Brazil. Following the group's 1972 disbandment,
Magnet studied at the Conservatorio Nacional de Buenos Aires and the University
