JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound
JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound, an American indie soul band from Chicago,
Illinois, formed in 2007 when guitarist Billy Bungeroth posted an ad on
Craigslist. JC Brooks joined as vocalist, and soon Ben Taylor (bass) and Kevin
Marks (drums) completed the original lineup. Their debut album, Beat Of Our Own
Drum, was released in 2009 under Vampi Soul Records. In 2011, they performed at
Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival with Jeff Tweedy. They then performed at
