Javier Rosas y Su Artillería Pesada is a corrido-driven outfit founded in 2010
in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, and fronted by singer-songwriter Javier Rosas, whose
rotating “Artillería” ensemble anchors accordion, bajo sexto, bass/tuba and
percussion onstage and in the studio. Early independent cuts led to a national
breakthrough with the single “En la Sierra y en la Ciudad ‘La China’,” which
reached the Top 10 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay in 2014 and framed
