Contemporary country songwriter Jason Michael Carroll was born in Youngsville,
North Carolina, on June 13, 1978. The son of a pastor, he spent his childhood
surrounded by religious music, until his father discovered a country album in
his bedroom. Encouraged by his mother, Carroll won a local contest and moved to
Nashville, where he performed regularly. Signed to the Arista Nashville label,
he enjoyed considerable success with his debut album Waitin' in the Country
