János Kristóf Bródy is a Hungarian singer-songwriter, guitarist, and composer born on April 5, 1946, in Budapest. After graduating from the Puskás Tivadar Telecommunication Technical School, he joined the beat band Illés in 1964. The ensemble achieved fame with albums such as Long Tall Sally and Little Richard/Chapel, beginning his acclaimed musical partnership with Levente Szörényi. Following a controversial statement regarding police work at a 1973 concert in Diósgyőr, Bródy was fined and the band split.
