Jana Lynn Stebner, known professionally as Jann Browne, was born on March 14,
1954, in the United States. She is a country music singer who moved to Southern
California in 1978 and began performing in Orange County country bars. From 1981
through 1983, she was a vocalist with the Western swing group Asleep at the
Wheel before embarking on her solo career. Browne released her debut album Tell
Me Why in 1990, which included her highest-charting single "Tell Me Why",
peaking at number 18 on the Hot Country Songs chart. Her subsequent albums
included It Only Hurts When I Laugh (1991)...
