Jerome Louis "J.J." Jackson, born November 8, 1942 in Bronx, New York, is an
American R&B singer. He began his career as a songwriter and arranger at the age
of sixteen, with his first songwriting credit being "The Lord Will Understand
(And Say 'Well Done')" on Billy Williams' 1957 single. J. J. Jackson's first
solo release was the single "Shy Guy" in 1963. He co-wrote several notable
songs, including Mary Wells' "My Mind's Made Up" and Inez and Charlie Foxx's
