Irving Taylor (April 8, 1914 – December 3, 1983), born Irving Goldberg, was an
American songwriter, composer, and screenwriter. Taylor became a member of ASCAP
as a teenager and served in the US Navy during World War II, where he co-wrote
entertainments for the Staten Island Navy Yard with Vic Mizzy. Following the
war, Taylor wrote and produced for television programs including The Bob Newhart
Show and F Troop. In the late 1950s, Taylor released a series of novelty albums
on Warner Bros. Records, including Terribly Sophisticated Songs (1958), The
