Instant Funk was an American disco and funk band formed in 1975. The group
initially signed with Philadelphia Records and released their debut single
"Float Like a Butterfly" in 1975, followed by their first album Get Down with
the Philly Jump the next year. In 1977, they achieved their first notable
success with "It Ain’t Reggae But It’s Funky", which gained traction in the
American disco charts. The band also provided background vocals for Bunny Sigler
during this period. In 1978, Instant Funk moved to Salsoul Records, where they
