Ian Timothy Whitcomb, born on July 10, 1941, in Woking, Surrey, England, was a
singer-songwriter and record producer. Early influences included Phil Harris,
Johnnie Ray, Guy Mitchell, Elvis Presley, and George Formby. He began writing
songs at Bryanston School in Dorset and formed bands including Bluesville. In
1965, Ian Whitcomb's single "You Turn Me On (Turn On Song)" peaked at number 8
on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was recorded with his band Bluesville
