Howard Griffiths
Howard Griffiths is a British conductor born in Hastings on February 24, 1950.
After completing musical studies at the Royal College of Music in London,
Griffiths relocated to Switzerland in 1981. Griffiths served as principal guest
conductor of the Oxford Orchestra da Camera from 1994 to 1997 and became
artistic director of the Orpheum Foundation for the Promotion of Young Soloists
in 2000. Between 1996 and 2006, Griffiths worked as chief conductor and artistic
director of the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, leading recordings of compositions by
Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, ...
