Hope of The States was an English indie rock group formed in Chichester, United Kingdom. The band initially consisted of Sam Herlihy and Keith Seymour on bass. Following their discovery after sending a demo to Planet Sound teletext page they were signed to Sony BMG. Their debut album, The Lost Riots, released on June 7, 2004, peaked at number 40 in the UK Albums Chart. The first single from this album was "Black Dollar Bills".
