Heems
Himanshu Kumar Suri, known as Heems, was born on July 6, 1985, in Queens, New
York. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 2003 and later from Wesleyan
University with a degree in economics. Suri's early career was in the financial
sector before his success in music. Of Punjabi-Indian descent, Heems formed the
alternative hip-hop group Das Racist in 2008 with college friend Victor Vazquez
(Kool A.D.) and high school friend Ashok Kondabolu. The group gained internet
fame with their 2008 song "Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell" and further
