Halid Bešlić, born 20 November 1953 in Knežina, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, FPR
Yugoslavia, was a Bosnian folk singer. After completing mandatory service in the
Yugoslav People's Army, he moved to Sarajevo and began performing in local
restaurants, releasing eight singles between 1979 and 1982, the first of which
was "Grešnica". His breakthrough came with the studio album Sijedi starac
(1981), followed by Pjesma samo o njoj (1982) and Dijamanti… (1984), the latter
featuring the hit "Neću, neću dijamante". Throughout the 1980s, he issued other
