Guillermo José Dávila Ruiz was born on 18 March 1955 in Caracas, Venezuela, and
began his artistic career as a singer and actor. Early work in the 1970s
included stage performances with the theatrical group Arte de Venezuela and a
leading role in the Venezuelan adaptation of Godspell, which helped him develop
a presence in musical theatre. His first major breakthrough in music came in
1980 with a guest appearance on the telenovela Natalia, followed by the release
