An American band straddling the border between post-punk-inspired rock and lo-fi
alternative, Guided By Voices have demonstrated rare longevity since their 1987
debut Devil Between My Toes. Five albums later, the Ohio band formed by Robert
Pollard became fashionable with the classic Bee Thousand (1994), followed by a
contract with Matador. By now, Guided By Voices had become a benchmark of indie
rock, sending regular updates to an audience of insiders. After Mag Earwhig! in
