Gryllus Vilmos
Vilmos Gryllus is a Hungarian musician and composer born on 28 October 1951 in
Budapest. Gryllus studied architecture at the Budapest University of Technology
and Economics and graduated in 1976. In 1969, he co-founded the folk group
Kaláka with his brother Dániel Gryllus. In 1980, he hosted the radio show Ki
Kopog?. In 1991, Gryllus created the children's television show Égbőlpottyant
Mesék. Since 1996, he has performed with Kaláka with a repertoire of poems set
to music. In 2000, Gryllus received the Kossuth Prize. In 2004, the group Kaláka
received the Prima Primissima Prize.
