Grupo Pegasso, a Mexican cumbia band credited with creating the cumbia pegassera
style, was formed in 1979 in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico by Federico “el Pollo”
Estevan. The group's initial lineup included Juan Antonio Espinoza and others.
Their first album, Paloma, faced complications when most members left to form
their own band. Estevan regrouped with new members including Emilio Reyna,
