Grupo Manía, a Puerto Rican merengue group, was formed in 1993 by brothers
Héctor "Banchy" and Oscar Serrano, along with Edwin Serrano and Alfred Cotto.
The band released its debut album that year and achieved success with subsequent
releases. In 1994, Edwin Serrano was replaced by Elvis Crespo, who left in 1997
for a solo career. Despite lineup changes, Grupo Manía continued to release
albums such as 22 Ultimate Merengue Hits (2008) and Se Pego La Mania (2009). The
