GRIPS Theater is a children's and youth theatre based in Berlin, Germany.
Originating in 1966 as a children's theatre at the Reichskabarett under
co-founder Volker Ludwig, the group officially adopted the name GRIPS in 1972
before moving to its location at Hansaplatz in 1974. The theatre pioneered
sociocritical plays for children and teenagers, premiering its first
sociocritical play, Stokkerlok und Millipilli, in 1969, and its first youth
play, Das hältste ja im Kopf nicht aus, in 1975. In 1986, the theatre premiered
