Grandpa Elliott
Elliot Small, known as Grandpa Elliott, and born on July 10, 1944 in New
Orleans, Louisiana, was a veteran street musician. He learned to play the
harmonica and sing while growing up in the Lafitte Housing Projects. His early
career began with recording singles as a soul singer in local clubs, including
"I'm a Devil" and "Girls are Made for Lovin'" (1969). In the 1970s, he recorded
the funk song "E-Ni-Me-Ni-Mi-Ni-Mo", produced by Wardell Quezergue. By the '80s,
