Glen Gray
Glen Gray Knoblauch, known professionally as Glen Gray, was an American jazz
saxophonist born on June 7, 1900, in Roanoke, Illinois. After attending the
American Conservatory of Music, he joined George Haschert's orchestra in Peoria,
Illinois. From 1924 to 1929, Gray played with several orchestras in Detroit
before becoming the leader of the Casa Loma Orchestra. The band gained
popularity through their appearances on the radio program Camel Caravan and
