Formed in 2015 in Stephenville, Texas, Givonannie and the Hired Guns are a multi-cultural band whose music mixes elements of rock & roll, Texas country, and Norteño into a diverse hybrid. Frontman Giovannie Yanez was raised in rural Lipan, Texas, where he began singing and playing guitar as a teenager. Relocating to Stephenville after graduation, he began playing his original songs at local bars and soon pieced together a band that included bassist Alex Trejo, drummer Milton Toles, and guitarists Carols Villa and Jerrod Flusche.
