Giorgio Conte
Giorgio Conte, born 23 April 1941 in Asti, Italy, is an Italian pianist and
composer. He began playing drums in a jazz combo with his brother who played the
vibraphone, before focusing on composition, writing hits for singers such as
Rosanna Fratello and Gipo Farassino. Conte’s breakthrough as a performer came
with the 1982 release of Zona Cesarini and the 1987 album L'erba di San Pietro.
He continued to record steadily, issuing Giorgio Conte (1995), Non Sono
Maddalena (1996), La Vita Fosse (1997), Tu Tum, Tu Tum (1997), and the
