Gino & Geno are a foundational Brazilian sertanejo duo formed in 1970,
consisting of Sebastião “Gino” Ribeiro de Almeida and Geraldo/Mauro “Geno”
Gonçalves Pereira. They first rose to prominence in the early 1970s with
traditional sertanejo and country-influenced hits like “As Águas do São
Francisco” (1982), cementing their status with albums such as Irmãos Boiadeiros
(1972), Serra da Mantiqueira (1978), and O Sorriso da Mulher Goiana (1980).
After a quieter period during the 1990s, they returned triumphantly in 2000 with
