Born in Paris, France on December 13, 1897, Georges Thill was an opera singer
who is now referred to as France’s greatest lyric-dramatic tenor. Studying under
Fernando De Lucia, Georges Thill made his live debut in 1924 at the Paris Opéra.
Over the next few decades, he would continue to perform there and at the
Opéra-Comique (Paris). An extremely popular performer, he also toured Europe and
