George Nooks, born circa 1958 in Jamaica, is a reggae singer who initially
gained fame as a deejay. He began his musical journey performing in his church's
youth choir and later at school concerts and talent shows. In 1974, he recorded
professionally for the first time. His breakthrough came when he performed under
the name Prince Mohamed on discomix tracks produced by Joe Gibbs, notably on
Dennis Brown’s "Money in my Pocket" and "How Could I Leave". Nooks released his
