American singer of Puerto Rican origin, George Garcia, born in Washington on
February 25, 1967, is better known as George Lamond. He grew up in his parents'
hometown of Puerto Rico, then moved to New York, where he spent his teenage
years. After starting his musical career as a backing singer, he signed a solo
artist's contract with Columbia and immediately scored several freestyle hits.
