George Guest

George Guest, born in 1924 in Bangor, Gwynedd, was a Welsh organist and choral conductor. He began his musical journey as a chorister at Bangor Cathedral and later at Chester Cathedral, where he took organ lessons from Dr. Roland Middleton. In 1951, Guest became the organist and choirmaster at St John's College, Cambridge, succeeding Robin Orr. Under his direction, the choir built up a formidable reputation, challenging the supremacy of the choir of King's College, Cambridge.
