Geneviève Morissette, born in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Canada, is a Canadian
singer who began her career at age eight, learning piano from her grandmother.
She adopted the stage name "La Morissette" and studied pop jazz with Johanne
Blouin before enrolling at the École nationale de la chanson de Granby. In 2012,
she became a finalist at the Festival international de la chanson de Granby,
winning the public prize. Her debut album Me V'là, produced by Antoine Gratton
