Singer and guitarist with The Jayhawks since 1985, Gary Louris has also collaborated with other bands and launched a solo career in 2008. Born in Toledo, Ohio, on March 10, 1955, he played in the rock'n'roll revival band Safety Last in the early 1980s, before joining The Jayhawks, alongside Mark Olson, with whom he made a major contribution to the revival of American country/folk music.
