Gary Winther Chapman, born August 19, 1957, in Waurika, Oklahoma, is an American singer-songwriter. Raised in De Leon, Texas by his pastor father, Terry W. Chapman, Gary moved to Nashville and began his music career as a guitarist for The Rambos. In 1979, his song "Father's Eyes" was recorded on Amy Grant’s Grammy-nominated album My Father's Eyes. His breakthrough came in 1982 when T.G. Sheppard’s recording of his song "Finally" reached Number 1 on the country music charts.
