Garland Lorenzo Wilson, also known as Garland Wilson, born on June 13, 1909, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, was an American pianist known for his contributions to boogie woogie and stride piano. He studied at Howard University and began performing in New York City nightclubs during the 1930s. Wilson's breakthrough came in 1932 when he accompanied singer Nina Mae McKinney on a European tour, collaborating with various bands in England and recording singles with Nat Gonella and Jack Payne.
