Freur, a Welsh electronic music group, was formed in Cardiff in 1982. The band
initially consisted of Karl Hyde and Rick Smith, who were later joined by Alfie
Thomas, John Warwicker, and Bryn Burrows. Freur began their career with a
graphic 'squiggle' as their name, but after signing with CBS Records in 1983,
they adopted the pronounceable name "Freur" at the label's insistence. Their
debut single "Doot-Doot" was released that same year and became their most
successful track, peaking at number 59 on the UK Singles Chart and reaching
