Frank Chastenier, born on December 24, 1966 in Aachen, Germany, is a pianist known for his contributions to jazz. He began playing the piano at age eight and won first place at Jugend jazzt at age 13. At 17, he started classical piano studies while also pursuing jazz studies under Francis Coppieters. Chastenier's breakthrough came in 1987 when he reached the finals of the Thelonious Monk International Competition.
