Francisco Lomuto
Francisco Juan Lomuto, born on November 24, 1893, in Buenos Aires, Argentina,
was a pianist, conductor, and composer known for his contributions to tango
music. He studied at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory and composed his first
tango, "606", early in his career. Lomuto's breakthrough came with the tango
"Muñequita" in 1918, which was later recorded by Carlos Gardel. Throughout the
1920s and 1930s, he formed various ensembles, notably a sextet for cruises on
