Frances Yip
Cantopop singer Francis Yip was born Francis Yip Lai-yee in Hong Kong on October
22, 1947. While known for her Cantopop recordings, she has also recorded pop
music and Mandarin hits in English. She’s best-known for singing themes to Hong
Kong TV series in the 1980s and 1990s. She began her professional singing career
in 1969 after winning the televised talent show Sharp’s Night Four Lights
