Floreal Ruiz, born on 29 March 1916 in Buenos Aires’ Flores neighborhood, was an
Argentine tango singer, lyricist, and composer. After working in upholstery and
home-delivery services, he began singing serenades with Hugo del Carril and
entered radio contests under the pseudonyms Fabián Conde and Carlos Martel,
winning a 1936 Radio Fénix contest. He joined José Otero’s orchestra in 1938,
recorded "Marcha del Club Platense" in 1939, and debuted on Radio Prieto in
