Evangeline was an American country music band from New Orleans, Louisiana. The
group included Kathleen Stieffel, Sharon Leger, Beth McKee, Rhonda Lohmeyer,
Nancy Buchan, and Dudley Fruge. Evangeline gained recognition through talent
competitions and was signed to Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Records label.
Their self-titled debut album was released in 1992, with "If I Had a Heart"
peaking at number 81 in Canada. Before their second album, French Quarter Moon,
was released in 1993, Fruge and Buchan left the group. This album featured their
first US chart single, "Let's Go Spend ...
